At St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, in his 70th year. Much loved husband of Barbara (Penny) and father of Meredydd and Amanda (Alex Grewenig). Beloved son of Mary Hardie and the late Robert G. Hardie (1999) and brother of Catherine and Peter (Brenda). Jim’s absence will be keenly felt by his mother-in-law Audrey Penny, as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. A member of the Canadian film community for over 45 years, he was selfless with his time and provided wise counsel and invaluable leadership to several generations of Canadian film professionals. He will be greatly missed by a vast network of friends, colleagues and mentees. A private family service has already been held. Jim’s many friends are invited to join the family at a public Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 28th from 2 until 5 p.m. at the St. James’s Gate Pub, 5140 Dundas St. W. in Etobicoke. – See more at: Legacy.com
